#winning

Today was a good day.
Today, with the generous donations and proceeds we accrued from our 4th annual 5k, we presented a $10,000 check to the CONQUER project, which researches various autoimmune diseases, in an attempt to find biomarkers or other antibodies that are responsible for causing the body to attack itself. We get to present another check to the Children's Alopecia Project soon.
Today, we had Hunter's yearly Neuroimmunology appointment, and thephysicians are extremely pleased with his progress and the way they have overtaken his confused immune system over the past five years. His brain isn't on fire like it used to be.
Today, the physicians saw Hunter in the brand new Autoimmune Encephalitis Clinic that has just opened here.
Yes, a clinic specifically dedicated to the same disease that started this journey. Soon, families with young children who change overnight will have answers.
Today, we signed to be part of a new research study that looks at the biome and how those suffering from AI disease may have certain gut flora that distinguish them from other dymelinating diseases.
Today we presented, examined, researched, and continued to bring awareness to Autoimmunity. Our hearts are full of gratitude.
Tomorrow, and the next day, and the next week after that, we might be knocked down; the holidays often bring difficulty; the coursework gets more intense; peers forget to be kind; and the social gap continues to widen.
But for today, we've won. ðŸ‘Š
