If I had a Magic Wand...again...

Last week, I had a chance to relive the statement that started this blog.  I looked up on the wall and saw this beautiful artwork:

When Paige was 4, she had written, "If I had a Magic Wand, I would make my brother play with me."  I remember all of the mommies, reading it and laughing as they thought it had to do with sibling rivalry.  Only it came from a place much, much deeper...she truly wanted a playmate.  She longed for the brother who didn't obsess about Lightning McQueen, and who would want to play hide and seek, play soccer in the backyard, play pretend on the weekends...but Hunter was in another world at that time.  He had yet to be diagnosed, and we had only started on the journey with AE and Autism.

The 4's classes always end their fairytale unit with a Fairytale Ball, in which the boys dress up as kings or knights, and the girls dress up as princesses.

Paige was a beautiful Belle, complete with heels.  She loved every minute of the dancing with her friends.

Hunter didn't want to wear the costume.  He reluctantly put it on, walked to his spot with his partner, and then had a minute of confusion, slight agitation, and after eating his special dietary plate, searched for the new car we had promised him in my purse.  It wasn't quite the experience I had envisioned.

Peyton, on the other hand, could not wait to leave this morning to attend his ball.  He proudly walked in with his sword and shield, and he was absolutely precious.

And I enjoyed every amazing minute.

he pulled the chair out for her :)

And then, it was time to ask her to dance!

He even complimented her crown! On his own!  Way to work it, buddy!

 His sweet teacher

And one of his best buddies!

Hunter, on the other hand, has had a bit of a transition.  We had a very hard first week back, and this last week has been better.  I am praying, praying, praying, we are getting back on track.  Cause mama is one tired lady.
look at this freehand drawing!

I may had shed a tear or two when "you can trim up the back" led to a big boy haircut :(

We got to see a Monster truck rally!

 Warm days- swingset time!

We were blessed by a visit from Uncle Pat- and man, did these kids love every minute!  They jumped in his lap immediately and there were a few grumpy faces when he had to go.

Paige was awarded the yellow "player of the month" jersey!  She played a total of five games last weekend.

And basketball wrapped up.  Great job, Coach daddy!!
IVIG day 4- the staff had a Valentine's Party in their gathering area

And then we came home to start the work he missed...

Here's what Hunter thought when I showed him the backside of math facts he just completed...

Zoo trip the next day for the boys!  I didn't send them to school, so we had some fun...
