The first day of private preschool
Yesterday was Hunter's first day at the private preschool! He has been attending this school for the past three years. We love the staff and everyone has been so supportive of Hunter and his challenges.
Our new teacher, Ms. Gina, has been absolutely fabulous. With a home visit, a conference, and a special meet the teacher, she has already given so much of her sweet self that we are overwhelmingly pleased.
We arrived a little early for the first day, and I walked him into the classroom to get him started with his play dough. As we left and snapped one more picture, he melted down and started to cry. I took him outside the classroom and gave him a little pep talk and encouraged him to sit in with his buddies. After I left again, the awesome movement teacher Miss Amy came over and helped him get into the room.
I called the office later that morning to see how he was doing, and they said he had come out a few more times, but they all helped Miss Gina with that first transition day. His ABA therapist was scheduled to come and spend the morning with the class, but a change on the calendar created a mix-up and she did not arrive. We are so thankful for the caring staff that stepped right in and helped him with this big transition.
Also helps to have such sweet mommies in that class to help me out! :)
Peyton is still getting his mommy time, since I have pink eye and can't work. BOO! Can't say I mind the extra time with his little cutie, though. :)
