Another weekend has flown past! how does that happen so quickly??
Friday was a hard day at school for Hunter, as he hadn't been to the district school in a week. Transition is a big issue, and his teacher said he had needed lots of attention and hugs today. I picked him up to go to OT, where we met Miss Marla for swinging, crashing, and cutting. He has been doing so well with his scissors! Much improvement!
After OT, we headed home to put Peyton to bed. No ABA today, since they had been to the private preschool the day before. She was impressed with how well he did following a classroom routine and his excitement to see the therapists. I was shocked at the data, as his non-compliance rates were over 50 for some activities! She explained that the non-compliance could be as simple as not looking when the teacher asked the class to pay attention, or sitting down when the teacher indicated to do so. They will be going to the preschool two days/week to assist with behaviors and other problematic issues.
Saturday morning we had a successful garage sale, where the children sold lemonade to the shoppers. Even though Hunter was more excited about drinking the lemonade than selling it, he practiced his communication skills by asking people if they wanted to buy the drinks and providing their cups.
Saturday afternoon, after dropping off our donations to the local charity, we headed to our church's carnival. The kids loved riding the spinning strawberries, playing the games, and riding the boats. Hunter actually didn't enjoy the big tent of games, as there were too many people in one area and the noise level was intense. We walked around and looked at the rides and the food stands. As we left, we purchased some kettle corn and lemonade, and the kids were beyond happy. :)

Sunday's highlights included attending the gluten free expo at the Westin. We love this event- you can sample foods from many different vendors, including our favorite Udi's. They actually gave us a free loaf of bread- that's over $6! We also found a great new brand of chicken nuggets, and received many samples and coupons from our favorites. Hunter was great and stayed with me the entire time we were there...as we were leaving, he asked to do the arts and crafts in the kids section. We ventured over there and he sat at the table coloring pictures. Miss Marla would be so proud!

Mcqueen joined us for the expo. Hunter with his bag of GF goodies. |
When we got home, we changed quickly and headed to the pool for the kids to swim a few laps and ride the tall slide. The guards closed the slide while we were there, and Hunter did not express one word of displeasure. Yay!!
We have taken two walks over the past week and Hunter has ran for a portion of the walk- not away from me, but towards a point that I indicate and encourage him to "win the race." So exciting!
And here we are, Monday night, football in the background...:) Happy week y'all!
