IVIG Day Three- the sun is shining!
Even the building has a rainbow |
It's a sunny day!! The sun is shining and it is supposed to get a little warmer...yes! The first thing Hunter said when we walked into "his" room was, "Mommy!! Look! It's sunny!!"
Feeling the warmth today. I just spent thirty minutes explaining PANDAS and Hunter's case history to our nurse that we have had for the past three days. She had asked a couple of questions where I felt like a conversation was needed...and as she nodded her head and learned about the disorder that will one day be a household acronym for other parents to be aware of the signs and symptoms.
Just as I was typing this, we had some surprise visitors:
Hunter wasn't quite sure about these guys...especially when they blocked the Wiggles.
finally cracked a smile with the tooting noise button on his device |
Dr. Knock Knock and Dr. Abby Normal
Hilarious! Hunter didn't think they were half as funny as I did, but I was rolling. Good distraction. She doesn't even have to ask- he just sticks his arm out now. |
Even though we are exhausted mentally and physically, these signs are giving us confidence that we are on the right path. Thankful for a little comic relief, warm sunshine, and a caring staff.
Here's my prayer today:
Dear God,
You have shown your strength yet again. You have gotten us through the first three days of treatment with minimal side effects, and we have a happy boy at home. We have felt your presence through friends, acquaintances, strangers, family, and so many "signs"- prayer and thanksgiving are everywhere.
We pray for these sweet babies who are here at the same facility-- those without a hair on their head who endure so much for a young soul. Grant them your same blessing and healing that you are bestowing on our son.
We are eternally thankful for your overflowing grace and mercy.
Amen.
