Vacation 2014 Part 2: LA/ Hermosa Beach

After the Disney breakfast, we packed up the hotel and went to the cemetery to visit Peter's brother, John.  Every night when the kids pray before bed, they say, "Thanks Uncle John for looking after us!"  We wanted the children to have a chance to visit and talk with their Uncle John who has most definitely been a guardian angel for our children over the years.

On to our friends' home in LA- little scooter board riding, lego building, baby holding, chocolate chip cookie eating party with some of the sweetest people I know!  Wish I had taken more pictures- only have one of Jamie riding with Paiger.

The next day, we arrived at the beach around noon.  Our hotel wasn't quite ready, so we changed into our suits and went right out to the sand.  Paige wanted to boogie board, and that she did- check out that girl riding the waves!

I didn't get the "after" picture, but with salt water in the nose and sand in her face, she decided to start a little closer in next time. :)

After the beach, we headed out for a "small" family dinner to celebrate Aunt Terry's bday!

Uncle Garth came to visit us!  SO SO SO good to see and hug him!
The boys were up early, so we enjoyed breakfast on the balcony while everyone else slept.

Little cousin ipad time before heading out to the beach.

After dinner one night, we met everyone back on the beach for volleyball, sand digging, music making (Hunter LOVED Grandpa's drum), bags, and fun!

After taking a walk on the pier, the cousins went to the aquarium for a guided tour.  We saw many types of interesting fish and sea creatures!

Back to the beach!  Uncle Bob with Lucas in his arms and Peyton on his shoulders- those little stinkers ran away!  Bob to the rescue!

Digging holes and burying the kids with sand- they loved it!  And I always knew where they were. :)

these two were such good buds during the week!

LOVE this picture!
After the beach, we went back to shower and pack up before our flight home.  We had seen Air Force one fly over several times in preparation for the President's arrival in LA.  Our flight was actually delayed due to his expected time of appearance shortly after our flight was supposed to take off.  Pretty cool to see all of the planes!

The flight was relatively quiet- and everyone was tired and hungry by the time we got home.  After collapsing in bed around midnight, we reminisced on the amazing week we had with family and friends.  SO many memories; a week to remember forever! Thank you to everyone who made those memories so wonderful!
