Soccer Season Ends

Soccer for Paige ended a few weeks ago, with Coach Daddy finishing a winning season (the second half!).  The little girls were new to soccer, with the exception of Paige.  Paige scored between 3-6 goals every game; after she scored for the first time ever, she realized how fun it was and boosted her confidence.  Hunter had a hard time at the soccer games- the parents cheering, the commotion...I spent most of the games chasing either him or Peyton and trying to catch glimpses of the game.

The final game was followed by a trophy ceremony..and Hunter, spontaneously, wanted to help pass out the donuts and the trophies.  He did such a great job I had to include some pictures.  Peter and I decided after watching him practice with Paige the last game, and his comments about wanting to join a team, to organize a soccer team with his friends for next season.  We know full well that he may not play one ounce of the games...but at least we can try.  We did soccer tots when he was 3, and it was an absolute disaster.  The lights were too bright in the building, the sound reverberated; it was a miserable experience.  However, I still drove 35 minutes each way to attempt practice and have him experience the sport.

We are hoping that next season, amoung a group of friends and peers, will spark a desire to play an organized sport with friends.

If it doesn't work, we can at least say we gave it a chance.  With Coach Daddy, we are hoping for the best.
