The end of the first week

What a week!  Paige had a successful week in kindergarten, and Hunter only had one meltdown at drop off for the district program.  Thursday I picked him up early to go to Meet the Teacher at the preschool...however, it wasn't until Friday. :(  The teachers and staff were so good to us- gave us a little private tour so Hunter could see the room on his own, before all of the kids arrived tomorrow.  These ladies are so phenomenal!

This morning I was ready to go, with lunch packed for the car ride, since after Meet the Teacher we were headed to OT and then back home to work with our new ABA therapist for four hours.  Hunter did great with the preschool!  Walked out of the room a couple of times, but came back and said good-bye (prompted) to a few of his friends.  We are so blessed to know several of the kids in his class, and these families are so supportive of Hunter and truly care about his well being.

Wanted to get the kids off on a healthy start so made lots of meals this week high in protein and full of colors.  Here was my best dish:
It was cheesy chicken, green beans with sauteed mushrooms, corn, and three different colored potatoes.  We also made green smoothies two mornings with our favorite secret ingredient, kale.  Another thing I learned at the Juice Plus conference is that children tend to be deficient in Vitamin D, which is essential for having a healthy immune system.  Peter found this dropper at Sprouts; big kids get 8 drops, Peyton 5 drops.  It can be mixed in a drink, but it needs to be finished quickly to not lose its potency.

Peter also picked up this book- another reason why I love my husband so much! What a great find!

The kids finished the week with movie night and pizza tonight, and Paige wanted to color most of the time. She made pictures for all of the new friends in her class.
Hunter needed lots of deep pressure input this week- so we did a lot of crashing, bean bag smashing, tickle torture playing.  Here was his favorite- Hunter pillow sandwich.

Peyton was pretty funny this week.  We did "speech therapy" every day to boost his word repertoire.  He learned to lift his arms in question of "where" and just enjoyed all of the one-on-one.  He is such a goof!
